Assignments and Due Dates
Little Paper Bag Project - Due September 24th
Students have their items collected and brought in to present by Thursday, September 24th. Presentations will be on the 24th and 25th.Click here for a copy of the assignment. All assignments can be printed at home if needed.
"Where are the Microbes Hiding" Science Lab- Due October 2nd
In this lab, students tested different classroom and school surfaces to see where microbes might be hiding. They used sterile swabs to collect samples, transferred them onto nutrient agar plates, and then observed any microbial growth over several days. Students also compared their results to a control plate that was not swabbed.
For homework, students just need to finish answering any incomplete questions in their Microbes Lab worksheet and have it ready to hand in for the end of the week. Click here for the copy of the lab.
Math in the Real World - No set due date yet
Students will explore how math is used in everyday life by finding a real-world example, such as a sale sign, recipe, sports statistic, map, or advertisement. They will identify the math concept being used, explain what the math means, and describe why it is useful in that situation. Students will then present their example on a poster "Math in the Real World".
For example: A grocery store sign showing 25% off uses percentages to tell customers how much the original price has been reduced.

Math Divisibility Assignment - Due October 14th
Students have been learning about divisibility rules and how to use them to determine whether a number can be divided evenly without actually dividing.
Two levels of worksheets were provided to support different learning needs. The regular worksheet focused on practising and applying divisibility rules, while the challenge worksheet offered more complex problems that required deeper thinking, problem-solving, and explaining mathematical reasoning.
Students were encouraged to work at a level that challenged them while building their confidence and understanding of divisibility.
